2521 Almere (NL)

Across from the existing top sport centre, in the green field development Olympia Kwartier a indoor sports centre based on the 2521 concept is realised.

It is located in the future centre area of Almere Poort (which is part of the Amsterdam metropolitan area). Clubs for swimming, triathlon, diving and the Reddingsbrigade (Rescue team) use the pool for their activities. It is also used for recreational swimming and activities specifically for different target audiences, such as elderly. Above the pool a sports hall was build, which is used by both schools and sports clubs throughout the whole region.

In the construction layer between swimming pool and sports hall, two judo compartments, multiple changing rooms and offices / conference rooms were build. The facility was opened on April 8th 2016 by triple Olympic champion Pieter van den Hoogenband. Almere Kenniscentrum Talent (AKT, regional knowledge centre on talent identification and development) is also located in the facility.
